Brett Nihart

Brett Nihart

Brett enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps after graduating from high school. He served in Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan) and completed five years of service, attaining the rank of Sergeant.

Brett transitioned to full-time tax service by partnering with his father and mentor. He completed the H&R Block tax course and became a Registered Tax Return Preparer in 2011, and interned with his father and at Tax Services of Milford immediately thereafter. Since then, he has completed thousands of federal and state tax returns.

Brett received a B.S. in Business Administration from UCONN. Brett passed the Annual Filing Refresher Test course as well as two of the three Special Enrollment Exams in 2015. Upon completion of the third test, he will be an Enrolled Agent, an expert in federal and state taxation.
Soren Gutierrez

Soren Gutierrez

A graduate of West Point and the U.S. Army Ranger School, Soren served in Operation Iraqi Freedom, where he was an infantry company executive officer. After active duty, Soren played a key role in developing and running a private school serving an underprivileged population in Brooklyn.

During this time, he also passed the Series 7 exam and remained in the National Guard part time. Soren transitioned to a full-time role with the National Guard, serving as operations officer for a disaster response team responsible for the U.S.’s eastern half. 

Having attained the rank of Major, he responded to Hurricanes Irene and Sandy. Soren then became Director of Operations for a Bridgeport school, overseeing all non-instructional aspects. Soren is now with Brilliant Deductions LLC full time while pursuing an MBA.
